The Scoop on the Coop
We are Mandi and Jessica and together, we are: THE COOP.
We are homeschool moms for life and in an effort to create a community for our children to learn and grow with, we began our own little informal co-op group. We loved the potential of this group and benefit it brought to us and soon dreamt big about sharing our passions, experience and knowledge with you.
Why, The Coop? Well, Mandi would see co-op on her calendar so often that she began referring to our group as the coop, and it took off from there. We swear we aren't huge chicken fans or even really farmgirls (maybe a little at heart), but we love how coop related phrases lend themselves so well to what we want to share.

I love homeschooling. It’s my passion and joy. I am in a constant state of learning, growing, and process improvement - and I want to pass all of that along to you! I have always homeschooled my three children, ages 5, 8, and 9. I am a Southern California native and currently live in San Diego County. I am a Christian, love Disneyland, and am always up for going on a Girls’ Night Out! It’s been quite an awesome journey so far, and I love where it is taking us.
My husband and co-teacher, Marcus, is part of this adventure as consultant, read-aloud partner, sport advisor, history buff, theologian, and master of all things silly and goofy.
My homeschool bestie Jessica and I have been partnering up for a few years now homeschooling our precious littles, and are glad to get to include you on the journey.

Homeschooling my children has been a dream of mine since my young adult days. I went to public school in San Diego County until junior high when I started homeschooling. I loved my own homeschool/independent study experience. I have an 8 year old and a two year old and live in San Diego County. I work part time as a children's dance educator and homeschool my children. Homeschooling can have its challenges, but it has been my favorite adventure so far.
My husband, Jake, shares my passion for homeschooling our children and is an invested leader for our family. He helps to balance out my chaotic rigidity.
Mandi has shown me that I can have my very own homeschool community for my children and enjoy every moment.
