What Are Co-Ops?
A co-op or cooperative, is an association of people that are united voluntarily to meet their goals. So, in the context of homeschooling, a co-op is a group of homeschoolers that work together toward a united goal.
Formal Co-Op - typically requires a strict buy-in whether it is monetary or as a leader/educator. Meets regularly on a set schedule and is usually more academically oriented.
Casual Co-Op - a group of families working together to build a community that serves their interests: nature, learning experiences, field trips, school-like events, etc.
Pods & Micro Schools - small groups that formed during the Covid-19 school closures by parents looking for cooperative learning situations for their children.
